This article takes a look at the developed of the rock coast
system in Hornsund Svalbard. It takes a look into how marine processes such as
abrasion and erosion affect the rock coast dynamics in the High Artic coastal
settings. They used tests such as electrical resistivity tomography and traversing
micro-erosion meter.

The authors
looked into what is named monomolecular surface films, which are known to
dampen small-scale waves at the water surface. This comes into the marine
process of transport at the air-sea interface. They observe how the
monomolecular surface films tend to accumulate at the water surface along the
lines of current shear in “fronts and eddies” from marine processes.
