Group Activity 1

Week 01 Group Activity

Figure 1.0— Full Image of Peyto Lake

When I first examined Figure 1, I found it difficult to pinpoint certain geological observations; I spent hours staring at this picture with the text beside me, hoping I would make accurate observations.
Figure 2,0 – Unique Turquoise lake of Peyto Lake

The first thing I noticed in Figure 2.0 was how there was a unique color to Peyto Lake. I’m not exactly sure what may cause this turquoise color, but I believe it may have something to do with the glacier next to it. I would like to say that the glacier is what is giving the lake its color because it’s the source of the water.
Figure 2.1— Glacier of Peyto Lake

This is another geological observation I noted. The glacier I observed of Peyto Lake; It fascinates me to observe how this glacier goes into the lake.
Figure 3.0—Sedimentary Rock

I thought Figure 3.0 to be a sedimentary rock because the particles may have originated from the weathering of the other rocks in the area.

Figure 3.1—Weathering

Figure 3.1 was geological observation of weathering. The mountain is currently covered in snow which could affect it.
Figure 4.0—Igneous Rock: Granite

In all honesty, I was a bit hesitant observing Figure 4.0 to be granite. But I believe it to granite because the rocks look coarsely grained.
Figure 5.0- Metaphoric rock

Figure 5.0 looks like metaphoric rock because of the way the pressure, perhaps air pressure (?) may have morphed the rock.
